===== What is Soulblaze? =====

Soulblaze is a psyker-exclusive status effect that applies damage over time. The visual effect for Soulblaze is blue fire. The maximum stacks that can be applied to an enemy is 31 stacks. Damage does not scale linearly - each additional stack is a significant increase in damage.

===== What is it strong/weak against? =====

Soulblaze has great armor damage modifier values against every armor type in the game except for Carapace. Effectiveness against Carapace can be significantly improved via armor penetration buffs/debuffs like Rending and Brittleness, and +25% damage to Carapace weapon perk.

===== What can apply Soulblaze? =====

From highest cap to lowest: Perilous Combustion talent:

  * 3 stacks per elite/specialist kill
  * Caps at 31 stacks

Creeping Flames talent (Venting Shriek ability modifier):

  * 1-6 stacks on ability use based on peril
  * 6 stacks when ability is used above 83.33% Peril
  * Caps at 31 stacks

Inferno Staff:

  * 1 stack per primary attack, +1 stack on critical hit
  * Continuous stack application during secondary attack
  * Caps at 15 stacks (Burn stat 76%) or 16 if the last hit is a critical hit

Blazing Spirit (Melee Weapon Blessing):

  * Up to 4 stacks per critical hit
  * Caps at 12 stacks

Blazing Spirit (Ranged Weapon Blessing):

  * Up to 4 stacks per critical hit
  * Caps at 6 stacks

Wildfire talent:

  * Up to 4 stacks per proc
  * Caps at 4 stacks

===== How do we get to 31 stacks? =====

If you are the Psyker that is trying to get to 31 stacks, the most common option is to utilize Inferno Staff to get to 15/16 stacks, then use Venting Shriek to get to 21/22, and the rest of the way to 31 is achieved through Perilous Combustion procs. If you are not the Psyker, but you have one on your team, the best way is to group up as many elites and specials in a tight ball as possible and watch them burn to death. Using nukes/rockets to clear elites prevents your Psyker from getting to 31 stacks and is often not advised as the utility can be better used elsewhere.
